Sawyer Fredericks - What A Wonderful World (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
In my last year of touring, and the many live streams during this pandemic, I have found myself wanting to close my shows with this iconic song by Louis Armstrong. Many of my original songs deal with the darker stories and emotional struggles of life and this timeless song is a hopeful reminder of all the good in the world. I'm very grateful to be working again with Andrew Benincasa, as well as Lindsey Morano, who have collaborated to create this wonderful vision for my rendition of the song. What A Wonderful World I see fields of green Red roses too I see them bloom For me and you And I think to myself What a wonderful world I see skies of blue Clouds of white The bright blessed day The dark sacred night And I think to myself What a wonderful world The colors of the rainbow So pretty in the sky Are also on the faces Of people going by I see friends shaking hands Sayin how do you do They’re really saying I love you I hear babies crying I’ll watch them grow They’ll learn much more Then I’ll ever know And I think to myself What a wonderful world And I think to myself What a wonderful world Written by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss (First Recorded by Louis Armstrong) Vocals & Guitar by Sawyer Fredericks Produced by Sawyer Fredericks Recorded and Mixed by Ariel Shafir at Dreamland Recording Studios in Woodstock, NY. Born - Sawyer Fredericks - Official Video
I got into the music business at a very young age. I started busking at farmers markets and local open mics when I was 12, crossed the country to be on a reality TV show at 15, then experienced the ups and downs of a major label for 2 years, before finally going independent at 18 and self-releasing my next 2 albums. All of that was pretty stressful and one of the people that shielded me from a lot of the stress was my mom. She handled a lot so that I could still have a childhood and could focus on my music. But I wrote this song when I was 18 and I was ready to start taking on more. We had gone through an intense 3 years, spending so much time together on the road, in the studio, and even at home, I was basically living with my manager. We handled it as best we could, but we were just too tangled up. It was a painful and confusing time, for both of us. My story may be unusual, but I think most parents and teens go through feelings like these at some point. Born was about all those emotions, letting her know I needed to go through these things, because it was the only way I was going to learn and grow. Incredibly grateful to all the artists, musicians, film crew, and actors who contributed to this song and this video. Including friends and family who volunteered to appear in the video. It has been a beautiful team effort. I also want to thank my Patreon patrons and Team Sawyer who have so generously and loyally supported my music through the years. This album, and these videos are only possible because of you. Born If I’m not broken I’ll only notice once I’ve broken you So keep your love and Don’t wait for mine Cause I’m a stable tomb No need to Waste your time I love you Let me cry Don’t want you To take my scars I want you To tear me apart So long you’ve Kept me warm I need you to let me be Born If I’m not broken I’ll only notice once I’ve broken you And the hard cold truth is The ones you love will turn their backs on you No need to Lose your mind I love you Let me cry Don’t want you To take my scars I want you To tear me apart So long you’ve Kept me warm I need you to let me be Born Written and produced by Sawyer Fredericks Vocals & Guitar: Sawyer Fredericks Guitar: Jerome Goosman Bass: Gannon Ferrell Drums: Chris Thomas Recorded and Mixed by Ariel Shafir at Dreamland Recording Studios in Woodstock, NY. Sawyer Fredericks - Lies You Tell - Official Video
Thanks to the amazing support from my Patreon Patrons, I offer you Lies You Tell, and the first official music video from my new album, Flowers For You. It was quite a challenge creating a quality music video during a pandemic, with 3 of the musicians quarantined across the country. Fortunately, we already had pre-pandemic behind the scenes studio footage of Gannon, Sav, and Katie working on the string arrangements in the song. But no footage of Chris and Jerome recording their parts. With careful social distancing, masks, lots of hand sanitizer, staging help from Ariel and some clever framing and editing by Lindsey, we were able to recreate the rest. In the end it feels like we were all together, at our studio home, Dreamland Recording Studios. I hope you all enjoy this little glimpse of the magic. Stay safe and Be Well! Sawyer Fredericks- Gasoline Official Video
The official video for Gasoline, from Sawyer's latest independent full length album, Hide Your Ghost, was filmed at the historic Glove Theatre in Gloversville, NY, doors down from where Sawyer performed his first Open Mic. This project reflects Sawyer's ongoing efforts to support the local businesses and the arts in the community that supported his beginnings in music. The Glove Theatre, built in 1914, is thankfully still standing and though in need of much restoration, continues to provide an outlet for the arts in this beautiful, though economically struggling upstate NY region. To help fund the restoration, a fundraiser concert event was hosted on June 3rd, celebrating the release of the video for Gasoline. If you would like to help with the community and Sawyer's efforts, donations can be accepted at https://www.glovetheatre.org Gasoline is written and produced by Sawyer Fredericks, recorded and mixed by Ariel Shafir at Dreamland Recording Studios, in Woodstock, NY. It features Sawyer Fredericks on acoustic guitar and vocals, Chris Thomas on drums, Jerome Goosman on guitar, and Art Fredericks on bass. The album Hide Your Ghost was mastered by Steve Fallone, at Sterling Sound NYC. Video produced by Chromoscope Pictures of Troy, NY http://www.chromoscope.pictures Gasoline, and the Hide Your Ghost album are available on all major digital and streaming sites, and the CD is available at all FYE locations https://www.fye.com You can also pick up a signed copy of the CD and Vinyl edition at any of Sawyer's shows on tour- he will be touring extensively through the USA and Canada throughout 2018.
